Our Business Services team has three areas of expertise and our team members are selected with the right knowledge and experience to deliver the best possible service.
Accounting Services
- Complete accounting support for businesses which do not require an audit (turnover £6.5m), everything you would expect from a traditional accountant, but we do more!
- Year end accounts, management accounts, ad hoc accounting assistance
- Outsourcing – ranging from unw taking over the whole accounting function of a business, to limited regular involvement, eg. payroll preparation or monthly management accounts. We can also include an effective outsourced Finance Director role, high level interpretation and advice about the results of the business
- Computerised accounting systems, advice and guidance about which system, how to configure it, implementation, training (these fee costs are usually grant aided) and on going support
- We have a BACS approved payroll bureau
Dental Business Unit
- All of the Accounting Services detailed above
- Membership of NASDA (National Association of Specialist Dental Accountants). unw is the only member in the North East of England
- Advice regarding practice sales and purchase
- Goodwill market knowledge – Alan Suggett prepares the NASDA quarterly goodwill survey
- Technical advice – Alan Suggett is a member of the NASDA Technical Committee and a regular contributor to the national dental press
- Benchmarking of dental practice financial results – all unw dental clients receive an annual report which compares their results with a unique national database gathered from thousands of NASDA dental practice clients
Strategic Development Programme
- A systemised approach to helping business owners agree common objectives, a shared vision of what the business will look like in the future
- An agreed action plan to ensure that the path to achieving the agreed objective maximises the proabability of actually getting there
- A review process to regularly keep the action plan on track
- In addition, similar processes are available to help business owners with profit management, strategy for teams and risk management
- SDP projects are usually capable of being grant funded via Business Enterprise North East (Business Link) at a rate of between 40% and 60% (unw are approved BENE consultants)
