Who would be a Charity Trustee? – Panel Discussion

Date: Wednesday 5th July 2017
Time: 4pm for 4.30pm start, closing at 5.30pm (approx.)
Location: UNW Boardroom (Ground Floor), Citygate, St James’ Boulevard, Newcastle, NE1 4JE

For our final event before the summer holidays begin in earnest, we are holding a panel discussion involving three speakers with considerable experience of both acting as trustees and working with trustees in the charity sector:

Lucy Winskell OBE DL, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Employability and Partnerships) Northumbria University, formerly Chairman of both The Children’s Foundation and Westfield School and a current board member at The Live Theatre and International Centre for Life;

Ivor Stolliday, Member of Chapter and Treasurer at Durham Cathedral and for 15 years Chief Executive of Dartington Hall Trust, a major arts and educational charity with visitor centre and conference facilities in Devon; and

Peter Neal, Trustee with Great North Air Ambulance Service and Head of the UNW Strategic Talent team in which capacity he advises regularly on board appointments and succession planning in both the charity and commercial sector.

‎Asking the questions initially and attempting to keep order will be UNW’s Anne Hallowell and Charles Linaker (sadly Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield were otherwise engaged) but we hope that there will be no shortage of contributions from the audience, so please come prepared to engage in what we are sure will be a lively and enlightening discussion on the challenges of being a charity trustee and of managing a board of trustees.
