Employment, VAT and Gift Aid - what you need to know and how to identify problems and deal with them.
As we all know, most bodies established for charitable purposes (“Charities”) rely on paid and unpaid labour and as such, some of the rules around payment to these individuals both in salary, contributions and expenses are unique to the charitable sector.
Lee Muter, our new Employment Taxes partner, will explore the main areas where HMRC have identified errors within Charities and provide solutions on how to put matters right going forward. Lee will be supported by Mark Hetherington, our VAT partner, who will deliver a general update on VAT and Charles Linaker, Tax partner, who will talk briefly about Gift Aid.
