Virtual Charity Briefing: Strengthening Your Board
Date: Thursday 11th March 2021
Location: Zoom Webinar
Having effective and skilled trustees on the board is more important than ever for the future of any charity. We are therefore delighted to invite you to UNW’s first charity briefing of 2021, ‘Strengthening Your Board’, to be held on Thursday 11th March at 10:00am.
The purpose of this webinar is to provide insight and practical advice on how to attract, recruit, and retain the right trustees for your board. It will be facilitated by Anne Hallowell, Charity and Not-for-Profit Partner at UNW, and delivered by specialist guest speaker Claris D’cruz, Consultant at Wrigleys Solicitors, who is an experienced charity trustee and dedicated charity lawyer who has been advising charities for almost 25 years.
During the session, Claris will cover a variety of factors, including legal implications, diversity of character on the board, and the appointment process. She will also offer insight on eligibility and checks, as well as how to maintain a cohesive board.
As part of the presentation, Claris will also focus on updates to the Charity Governance code, including recent additions to the ‘Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion’ (EDI) section.
